Bartlam Collections update / SCIAA

We are in the process of updating the collections in preparation for a new home.  Reintegrating archival sherds, bagging and rebagging pieces on loan.  It is quite a bit of work to maintain a collection, and there has been no designated person on staff to do that for this collection.  It was never officially curated at SCIAA, but remained under the watchful eye of Dr. Stanley A. South, who has recently retired.  So, after 20 years at SCIAA it looks as though the John Bartlam archaeological collection will be moving to Charleston.  A mélange of imported and locally made 18th ceramics found near Charleston, this collection should be a great resource for both students of the art and avid history buffs.  Stay tuned for details about the move and when the sherds will become available for research.
